FIWARE FINODEX (Future Internet Open Data Expansion) is a European business incubator and accelerator.
Juan Capeáns is an economist, specialised in urban development projects and a social innovation consultant. He holds a master’s degree in Urban and Territorial Planning from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and an MBA in multilateral project management from the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX-CECO). He has more than 11 years of professional experience in the research and management of multilateral projects, working in international organisations, such as the Inter-American Development Bank, evaluating public policies adopted to achieve the SDGs, or UN-Habitat, where he contributed to the preparation process of the Habitat III Conference. In addition, he has collaborated with the architecture firm, Ecosistema Urbano, in consulting and research projects. Juan has also worked as head of the social innovation department in Distrito Castellana Norte, developer of one of the main urban regeneration projects in Europe, Madrid Nuevo Norte; he has designed and carried out participatory processes of reactivation of public spaces in close collaboration with key local actors, such as universities, public authorities and local development agents.
