National Programmes Business Unit Director / Executive Committee
Madrid OfficeFernando Pérez is an Industrial Engineer (intensification in Industrial Organisation) with a degree from the University of Navarra and has International Master in Business Administration (IMBA) from Foro Europeo Escuela de Negocios de Navarra. Since January 2018, he is director of the national area and of Zabala´s office in Madrid. Fernando has worked as a senior R&D&I consultant at Zabala for more than 8 years, advising companies in the industrial sector in the management of their R&D&I, elaborating proposals, strategies, methodologies and managing the execution of projects. He is an expert in national and international funding programmes and opportunities. His main tasks have been the preparation, presentation, monitoring and management of R&D&I projects for companies, technology centres and universities, preparation of strategic R&D&I and investment plans, obtaining and overall management of R&D&I grants at the following levels: International: FP7, Horizon2020, EUREKA, IBEROEKA, AMSCII & RGF (UK), BPIFrance (France), National: CENIT, IDI-CDTI, INNTERCONECTA, MINECO (INNPACTO, RETOS COLABORACIÓN), Regional: SPRI, DGA, Government of Navarra, Xunta Galicia, ADE, Management, supervision and monitoring deadlines in large R&D&I cooperative projects (CENIT CIEN national program, ETORGAI programme of the Basque Government), planning, management and obtaining various business financial instruments (EIB loans, investment plan), the internal coordination of technical team of consultants in the preparation and presentation of large R&D projects of up to 13 partners (CENIT, FP7), R&D&I and Environmental Tax Relief – preparation, presentation and monitoring of dossiers. From 2014 to 2018, he has led the international tenders area of the company (European and multilateral tenders), working in the elaboration, drafting and management of international tenders: from European bodies: from EUROPEAID, EC Directorates General (Research & Innovation, Energy).
Prior to working at Zabala, he spent one year as market intelligence analyst in Cinfa Laboratories and a year as Design Engineer in the R&D department of Hussmann Koxka Pamplona (Ingersoll Rand).
