Why does the EU support Technology and Innovation platforms, partnerships or similar RD&I initiatives?
The EC supports organised processes that facilitate the gathering of RD&I expert views from strategic technology sectors; several types of initiatives exist, such as partnerships and platforms. They gather experts from across Europe and provide unbiased and balanced views on RD&I priorities in their sector, indicating where EU funding should be oriented.
Is participation in a platform or a partnership costly?
It depends, if the platform management is managed through an EU-funded project or contract, you can usually become expert member for free, however, you will be expected to contribute with your expertise. If a platform has an independent functioning structure, you might have to apply for membership.
How can becoming involved in such initiatives be useful for my organisation?
It will help you develop your network of contacts with peers active in RD&I; through your participation, you can also influence the drafting of future Horizon Europe work programmes, by prioritising better RD&I research and bringing your expertise to the table.
What support can ZABALA offer to its clients in this field?
Thanks to our experience in establishing and managing several platforms and initiatives, ZABALA has gained experience and a robust reputation that is helpful in supporting clients’ access to these initiatives and playing an active role in shaping RD&I in various sectors.

To maximise the success and impact of a project, we manage the communication and dissemination activities, but we also define a social innovation strategy and tools to measure its impact.
Europe offers many opportunities to support and foster Research, Development and Innovation actions. Competition is high and being well positioned among stakeholders active in each sector requires a well thought-out plan of action and an active way of promoting visibility in Brussels.
We collaborate with public administrations to promote innovation and assist companies in integrating innovation into their overall strategy.
