Flying to Paris to present the three programmes for innovative SMEs
EDI, Data Market Services and Blockchers projects will be presented at the CapDigital event on May 15th in Paris
Next May 15th, Zabala will be presenting in Paris three programmes for SMEs and startups: the European Data Incubator (EDI), Data Market Services, and Blockchers at an event co-organized by CapDigital.
Currently, these three projects carried out by ZABALA have open calls for proposals:
BLOCKCHERS
The BLOCKCHERS call, open until May 27th, focuses on SMEs across Europe working with blockchain technologies. You can apply to Blockchers by filling in a simple Google form.
This accelerator will administer a fund of €750,000 in two calls to finance cases of use of blockchain technologies in traditional sectors. The selected SMEs will move to the implementation phase (proposal, launch and use) in which, throughout two phases, they will receive funding for their project and other free services. A selected company could obtain up to €50,000 in non-refundable funding.
One of the main objectives of this project is to encourage collaboration between SMEs from traditional sectors and potential DLT specialists, as technology providers, and to promote knowledge about the benefits and opportunities of these technologies.
EDI
European companies will be able to apply to the second open call for proposals of the EDI incubator until June 19th. The selected companies will have the chance to boost their products and business services thanks to the opportunities offered by the EUROPEAN DATA INCUBATOR (EDI).
The EDI project, financed by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 programme, has a 5 M € fund to support SMEs and start-ups focused on Big Data technologies. It is a great opportunity for entrepreneurship, as it provides companies with a large technological infrastructure, data and non-refundable funding.
Each selected team could obtain up to 100,000 euros of non-refundable funding. After applying to the call, the proposals will be evaluated and up to 50 teams will be selected and invited to an event in Berlin within the first acceleration phase called “Explore“.
The 17 best teams will move on to the second phase of “Experiment” where they will develop a business plan, a minimum viable product, and will be evaluated throughout the process.
Finally, the top seven will culminate the acceleration process in the “Evolve” phase, which is very much geared towards promoting investment in the selected teams. For each phase there are some amounts committed: 5,000 euros for each of the first 50 teams, 80,000 additional for each of the 17 chosen for the second phase, and 15,000 euros for each of the 7 finalist teams.
DATA MARKET SERVICES
This project to support emerging companies in the data market will be open until May 26th.
Data Market Services has been funded by the European Union’s Research and Innovation programme Horizon 2020. Its main objective is to transform the European ecosystem of entrepreneurship to overcome the barriers that data-based SMEs and start-ups face in the path to market success.
The project will explore and engage with SMEs and start-ups that are in the data market. To support the selected companies, it will provide 12 free services in 5 different categories (investment, acceleration, legal training, standardisation and data skills). The programme will build a portfolio of 150 data-based promising companies selected from more than 2,000 applicants from across Europe. This selection process will be made in 3 different calls from 2019 to 2021.
