European Sustainable Energy Week: the meeting point for energy transition in Europe
ZABALA will be supporting the ETIP-SNET and HYDROPOWER EUROPE platforms and the REZBUILD and CIRCUSOL projects at this year’s European Sustainable Energy Week.
From 17 to 21 June, the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) becomes the meeting point to discuss European energy policies and to showcase the most innovative initiatives and projects in this field in Europe. ZABALA Innovation Consulting will be present at EUSEW with the ETIP-SNET and HYDROPOWER EUROPE platforms and the REZBUILD and CIRCUSOL projects.
The EUSEW is an ideal platform for sharing ideas and knowledge and for forging alliances to create an energy union based on energy efficiency, decarbonisation of the economy and research, innovation and competitiveness for the European Union. EUSEW 2019 attendees will have the opportunity to participate in four different meeting spaces: The Policy Conference, the Energy Days, the Networking Village and the Sustainable Energy Awards.
The EUSEW 2019 Policy Conference, which will take place from 18th to 20th of June, is the largest European conference dedicated to renewable energy and energy efficiency in Europe. Sessions organised by the European Commission and energy stakeholders focus on sustainable energy issues, debates on new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas.
The EUSEW Policy Conference is complemented by the Networking Village which will run from 18 to 20 June. Participants will be able to choose between visiting the Energy Fair, with numerous organizations hosting interactive stands; attending a variety of Energy Talks, engaging presentations on topics related to the transition to clean energy, or joining the Energy Lab audience, 8 projects launching in front of a panel of expert judges.
The Energy Days are organised by local public and private organisations and their purpose is to promote a clean energy transition. Energy Day activities can include anything from workshops, to a competition, to a tour of a power station – provided it engages citizens and energy stakeholders in building the Energy Union. These energy-focused days are held during the months of May and June and can last any length of time.
The EU Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding innovation in energy efficiency and renewable energies. 12 finalists will be chosen from a shortlist of the year’s most successful projects for clean, secure and efficient energy. Prizes will be awarded in the categories of Engagement, Innovation, Leadership and Youth by an expert jury and European citizens via a public vote.
ZABALA PROJECTS at EUSEW: WHERE AND WHEN
ETIP-SNET
ETIP-SNET is a platform, coordinated by ZABALA, co-financed by the Horizon 2020 programme and developed under the INTENSYS4EU project. Over the last few years, European industry has developed European Technology and Innovation Platforms (ETIP), for the development of Smart Grids (key agents that promote collaboration between regional, national and international actors) that are ready to be used on a large scale. The role of ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition (SNET) is to guide research and innovation to support Europe’s energy transition.
The main objective of the project is to foster the exchange of knowledge as well as best practices by the EU and Member States, and to share its vision and roadmap for research and innovation with a wide audience.
ETIP SNET will have an Energy Talk the 20th June from 15:00 to 15:30 at the Residence Palace and will be part of the Networking Village at the Energy Fair on the same day from 9:00 to 12:30 but in the Charlemagne building.
ETIP SNET will also be exhibiting at the Policy Conference on June 18th from 14:00 to 15:30 in the Berlaymont building, Jean Rey.
REZBUILD
The European project REZBUILD (Refurbishment decision making platform through advanced technologies for near Zero Energy Building Renovation) arises with the main objective of defining an innovative and collaborative ecosystem of renovation for Near Zero Energy Building (NZEB) in Europe.
REZBUILD will participate in the Policy Conference on June 18th from 16:00 to 17:30 in the Charlemagne building.
CIRCUSOL
CIRCUSOL’s main objective is to promote the solar energy sector as a leading model in the circular economy through business models based on Product-Service Systems (PSS). In short, this project will provide new business models applicable in different sectors to support the energy transition.
CIRCUSOL will participate in the Networking Village at the Energy Fair. You can meet them at the Charlemagne building from 14:00 to 17:30 on June 18.
HYDROPOWER EUROPE
HYDROPOWER EUROPE is a platform that aims to promote over the next three years the union of the most important key players in research and industry in the water sector. In this way, it will define European strategies and policies in this field for the next Horizon Europe programme.
HYDROPOWE EUROPE will participate in the Networking Village at the Energy Fair from 14:00 to 18:00 on 19 June in the Charlemagne building.
You can register in the Networking Village at this link, note that the registration will not ask to register for individual activities, but for the Networking Village as a whole. On the other hand, registration for the Policy Conference depends on the day you want to attend.
All projects have been financed by the European Commission’s Horizon2020 Programme.
